Terms of Service

Last updated June 1, 2026

Sortcery is a free Gmail-sorting demo offered by Aprendio LLC, a Florida limited liability company ("Aprendio", "we", "us"). By signing in, you ("you", "your") agree to these terms. They replace any prior agreement covering Sortcery. Read them — they are short.

1.What you're getting

Sortcery reads the latest messages in your Gmail inbox, asks an AI model to sort each one into a category, and — when you press Apply — labels those messages in your Gmail account. It never sends email. It never moves things to Trash on its own.

Sortcery is a lead magnet for Aprendio's done-for-you AI consulting practice. If you claim a conference offer code, you get three months of ongoing automation included free. After that the expectation is you continue as a paying Aprendio client; you are under no obligation to do so.

2.What we promise

  • No-send guarantee. Sortcery uses Gmail's gmail.modify scope, which technically permits sending. We refuse send requests in code — every Gmail API call is checked against a path allowlist before it leaves our server.
  • You confirm before we change anything. Classifications are previewed in the UI; nothing is applied to your Gmail until you click Apply. A rollback link is shown after every Apply so you can undo it.
  • Your stuff stays yours. You can export everything Sortcery knows about you (Settings → Data → Export) or wipe it entirely (Reset everything) at any time.
  • We don't sell your data. See the Privacy Policy for the full list of who gets what.

3.What you promise

  • The Gmail account you sign in with is yours, or you have explicit permission from its owner to use Sortcery on it.
  • You won't use Sortcery to violate laws, infringe rights, or process other people's data without their consent.
  • You won't try to break or abuse the service — including reverse-engineering our auth, scraping at scale, or running the API past reasonable per-account limits.
  • If you've been given a conference offer code, you'll use only one. The code is for individual conference attendees, not bulk redistribution.

4.AI processing — what you're agreeing to

Sortcery cannot work without sending email metadata to an AI model. By using Sortcery, you acknowledge that:

  • For each message we classify, the sender, subject, and snippet (the short preview Gmail returns) are sent to our AI provider. Email bodies are not sent.
  • The current provider is Anthropic via OpenRouter (see the Privacy Policy §3 for vendor links). Your use of Sortcery is also subject to those vendors' terms.
  • AI classifications are best-effort, not guaranteed accurate. Sortcery shows you each classification before applying it so you can correct it.
  • If you switch Sortcery to MCP-direct mode in Settings, classifications happen through your own Claude install instead of our cloud. The above terms still apply with respect to whatever provider your Claude is configured to use.

5.Emails from us

By signing in to Sortcery, you agree we may occasionally send you product updates, conference invitations, and information about Aprendio's other services. Volume is low — measured in emails per quarter, not per week. Every marketing email has a one-click unsubscribe; using it has no effect on your Sortcery account.

Transactional emails (offer code delivery, account notices) are separate and continue regardless of marketing opt-out.

6.The free trial

Sortcery's classification + apply flow is free during the trial window described on your conference offer code — three months from your first sign-in, unless we explicitly say otherwise. After the trial:

  • We may convert you to a paid plan, but only after notifying you and obtaining your separate agreement to those pricing terms.
  • If we don't convert you and don't keep the free service running, we'll give you at least 14 days' notice and offer a data export.
  • We reserve the right to discontinue Sortcery — or any specific feature — for any reason. We'll do our best to warn you first.

7.Termination

You can stop using Sortcery at any time:

We can suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, abuse the service, or expose Aprendio to legal risk. We will try to contact you first when termination is non-urgent.

8.Disclaimer

Sortcery is provided "as is" and "as available". AI classifications can be wrong. Gmail labels can be applied to the wrong message if you confirm an incorrect classification. We disclaim all warranties to the maximum extent allowed by law, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

9.Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent allowed by law, Aprendio LLC and its members, officers, employees, and contractors are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of Sortcery — including but not limited to misclassified emails, missed messages, mislabeled receipts, or business decisions made based on sorted output. Our total aggregate liability for any claim arising from these terms or your use of Sortcery is limited to USD $100. Because Sortcery is free, this cap reflects the practical reality of what you've paid for it.

10.Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold Aprendio harmless from claims arising out of your misuse of Sortcery, your violation of these terms, or your violation of any third-party rights.

11.Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute that can't be worked out by email goes to the state or federal courts located in Florida, and you and Aprendio both agree to personal jurisdiction there.

Before filing anything, please email privacy@aprendio.ai and give us 30 days to make it right.

12.Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as Sortcery evolves. Material changes will be announced in-app or by email at least 14 days before they take effect. Continuing to use Sortcery after the effective date counts as acceptance. If you don't like the new terms, the right move is to export your data and stop using the service.

13.The rest

These terms, together with the Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and Aprendio about Sortcery. If a court finds one section unenforceable, the rest still apply. Our failure to enforce a right isn't a waiver of that right. You can't assign these terms; we can assign them in connection with a sale of the business.

14.Contact

Questions about these terms? Email privacy@aprendio.ai. We'd rather answer a question now than argue about it later.
